Discuss ideas for the 2010 Cannonball

Shipping Scooters Home

Postby Karen G » Tue Aug 17, 2010 3:14 pm

Hi Ballers,

I need to ship my scooter back to Portland, Oregon at the end of Cannonball. Closest Forward Air is in Boston. Is anyone using a different shipper? Any in Portland, Maine?

Cheers,
Karen G.

Aside from Forward Air, the only shipper I've used is Daily Direct. They're not exactly cheap, but they do ship from door to door and they are very careful and professional. Their website is http://www.haulbikes.com/

Although I don't have any experience using them, another shipper is Federal Motorcycle Transport, which is an agent for Allied Van Lines. Take a look at their website at http://www.funtransport.com/ - I believe they ship door to door too.

Another one is Motorcycle Shippers (AKA JC Motors), which Patrick recommended at one point in the past, although I've never used them myself - http://www.motorcycleshippers.com/

I think there have been some discussions about shipping here in the forums, do a search to see if you can turn up any other shippers in some of the older threads. Good luck!

I'm using Allied, will post my feelings the end of the month.

Federal Motorcycle Transport (Allied) picked up and delivered my scooter on time. It worked out about $100 cheaper than Forward Air.
