Started tearing apart the scooter to install the Garmin 2820... few other accessories (cig lighter, new horn, headlight modulator, aux audio cable plug in the front storage, wire runs to under the seat, front rack, etc etc...)
I would prefer to have all of my add on electronics powered when the key is in the ignition - running or... inbetween - instead of using a manual switch (cuss I will inevitably forget one day and have a dead battery).
I've found a few good places to tap in up front in the headset to power the garmin. Anyone familiar with a good place under the seat?

ok ciggy socket, make sure to go to a boat shop and get an all wether one like i have on the p2 , 2 years later still no rust or shorts or leaking electricity cause of corrosion, so buy only marine grade stainless.
as for the headlight modulator, in the uk its been proven that they make it harder for a car driver to judge your speed with these and even if he does if the sun goes in his eyes or another car or padestrian[sp] pases in front he can think your flashing him out and pull right in front of you, trust me it happens R _________________ dont follow me, YOU WONT MAKE IT. |

I'm not familiar with your bike's layout, but for adding circuits to an existing blade type fuseblock without butchering the wiring, these are handy:
The holder replaces one existing fuse and holds two, one for the original fuse and one for the new circuit, with a pigtail for the new circuit.

fuse holder up to 30 amps 100% waterproof $2.99 in the us

12v socket with cap , bullet proof $9.00

but this locally and it will cost next to nothing and last forever
oh and while your there buy marine grade fully tinned wire, it will never ever go green and you can soldier it 20 years later even if it was stripped of all insulation. trust me, you wont regret it. _________________ dont follow me, YOU WONT MAKE IT. |

I have had good luck with running a fresh 12ga wire, fuzed at the battery up to the horn area and adding a relay that powers all you bells & whistles.
I also really like the "BMW" style plugs and sockets.

Good call. The Stebel horn is the one and only mod on my GTS and I love it. _________________ Bobo
